Frequently asked questions

What is Pelvic Floor Physio and how can it help?

Pelvic floor physiotherapy focuses on assessing and treating the muscles, joints, nerves and tissues of the pelvic region. It can help with bladder or bowel symptoms, prolapse, pelvic pain, pregnancy-related changes, and exercise discomfort through tailored rehabilitation, education, and evidence-based treatment.

No referral is required. You can book directly with our Women’s Health Physiotherapist. Referrals from GPs, specialists or midwives are welcome, particularly for complex presentations or EPC plans.

This varies depending on your condition, goals, and symptom severity. Most patients notice improvement within a few sessions, with treatment typically progressing over several weeks to support long-term pelvic floor and musculoskeletal health. Treatment protocols depend on the severity of each case.

Your appointments take place in a private treatment room, with discreet, trauma-informed care provided at every stage. You are always in control of the assessment process, and your physiotherapist will explain each step clearly to ensure you feel comfortable, respected, and supported throughout your treatment.
